I am a Ph.D. student in Electrical Engineering at Stanford University. My research is with Prof. Bernd Girod in the areas of low bit-rate image-based retrieval, and video streaming and quality monitoring.

I successfully completed the M.Sc. program in Electrical Engineering at Alexandria University, Egypt in December 2006. I worked with Prof. Hassan El-Kamchouchi for my Master’s thesis. In June 2004, I received the B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering, with distinction – degree of honor, from Alexandria University. My undergraduate focus was on signal processing and communications. I was honored by the Egyptian President in “Science Day, 2004” for being the top student of Alexandria University.
